2016 took far too many pop culture icons, and on Tuesday, Jan. 10, supermodel Iman chose to keep the legacy of her late husband, David Bowie, alive with help from a technicolor social media post. The 61-year-old cosmetics entrepreneur posted a lovely photo on both Twitter and Instagram of a double-rainbow shining over New York City on the one-year anniversary of Bowie's untimely passing. She captioned the pic, "Jan 10th, 2016 NYC Skyline #ForeverAndEver #ForeverLove #BowieForever." Bowie died at age 69 of liver cancer. The couple married in 1992 and have a daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones.

Iman openly expressed her heartbreak throughout 2016, but the Somali star seemed to have found a creative outlet via Instagram for her heartfelt homages. For example, instead of attending last year's Grammy Awards where Lady Gaga gave a show-stopping tribute to Ziggy Stardust, Iman donned a black Gucci sweater with patches of birds, butterflies, a heart, and the name Bowie across the back. On Father's Day, Iman shared a photo of Bowie gazing lovingly at their then baby girl with the hashtag #LexiLove. Earlier last summer, she posted a black and white image of the two on the beach celebrating their #foreverlove on their anniversary along with the words, "The best thing about me is you."

While the model's Instagram posts show's she still feels his presence encasing the sky in color, Bowie's androgynous and iconic style can still be found on the red carpet by the likes of Evan Rachel Wood and Zendaya. Although he had many reincarnations from Bowie to Ziggy Stardust, to Iman and his loved ones the "Fame" singer was simply David Jones. Despite his passing, Bowie and Iman's #foreverlove will live on.
