In The Bustle Booth With Ashleigh Murray

When celebrities come into Bustle HQ in New York, whether it's for a photoshoot, videoshoot, or a Facebook Live, we want to give them the chance to leave their mark. Literally. So we hand them a pen, a piece of paper, a few questions, and ask them to get creative. The rest is up to them. This time, Riverdale star Ashleigh Murray is leaving her mark in the Bustle Booth.

Murray was about to take a break from acting to get a job that would bring in a steadier source of income when the request came through for her to play Josie on Riverdale. As a fan of the Archie comics, Murray decided to go on one last audition, and it's a good thing she did, because the talent and power she brings to Josie would be sorely missed without her. And her portrayal of the Pussycats' leader should keep her in the industry spotlight for a long time to come.

Murray is young, but fiercely smart and thoughtful. On the day she came to Bustle to talk about Riverdale, she readily dissected her character — surmising that Josie rejects Archie (and boys in general) because of her need to succeed in the eyes of her parents. "The only view of success that she actually has is her mom doing it on her own," Murray says.

Just as easily as she tackled important topics during the interview, Murray was down to have fun during her time at Bustle and was constantly laughing and joking around. Her boundless positive energy was reflected when she stepped into the Bustle Booth to get deep about her fave emoji, biggest fear, and what she thinks millennials are best known for — an answer fierce enough to make Josie proud.
