KVD Just Teased Super Exciting Launches For 2017

by Rachel Nussbaum

Kat Von D's personal Instagram is always one to watch for insider info sandwiched among works of art and puppy pictures (also works of art), and it's a toss-up which is more addictive, the dog tattoos or the beauty news. Followers got a taste of both recently, with a hint at KVD's new product launches for 2017 straight from the set of their campaigns. Details are still few and far between, but here's what we know about all the new products Kat Von D just teased for 2017.

According to her Instagram caption, releases could include "the launch of Saint + Sinner fragrances, Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks AND Lip Liners, and our new Shade+Light GLIMMER palette!" Let us parse with a fine-tooth comb. First, fragrances are a huge deal — the brand announced last summer that they were bringing back KVD perfumes, so the currently available Saint might soon be reunited with its Sinner counterpart.

The Everlasting Liquid Lipstick shade extension was covered far and wide last week, with all of 25 new shades on the way. The new new here is the mention of coordinating lip liners, which is previously unexplored territory for the brand. And while some people have pointed out that liquid lipsticks' main deal is that they stay put by themselves, lone wolf style, doubtless this will mean a new frontier for ultra precise lips.

And more importantly, an end to the uneven fading some liquid lipsticks run into — *paradoxically* avoiding that unintentional lip liner look. Know thy enemy, keep your friends close, enemies closer... so many sayings apply.

There's no word whether every shade will have a liner match, but if they do, this could spell the most fun, technicolor set of lip liners ever. And if you already love lining pre-liquid lip, shade matches are about to get a ton easier to track down.

Shade + Light Glimmer Palette, $49, Sephora

Now, to speculate on the Shade + Light Glimmer palette. Kat Von D has both a Shade+Light Contour and Shade+Light Eye Contour palette available now, and there's no way to know which direction the new palette will swing in.

But either way, it's a safe bet to expect gorgeous neutrals in a shimmery, pigmented finish to bedeck your eyes or cheeks.

It's going to be a great year for KVD.
