There's matte lipstick and now there's Powermatte. If you think the matte lip trend is starting to die down, well, guess what? It's not. Pat McGrath is launching her collection of LUST: MatteTrance lippies next month. Now, NARS is upping its lip game with Powermatte Lip Pigment, enlisting Bella Hadid to help promote the latest long-wearing and velvet-look lip product. Hadid's career is straight fire right now and she could be on track to eclipse her big sis Gigi with all her endorsements and campaigns as of late.
The brand posted a BTS teaser from the Hadid campaign, which shows her lips coated in this super pale, nude x beige Powermatte. It's swiped on via a wand, so this appears to be a liquid lipstick. But it has that soft and "lived in" look, which is so right now, whereas many mattes are super precise and defined.
The Powermatte looks incredibly wearable, too. It also appears to be buildable and blottable, which is crucial, since some mattes can be streaky and flaky.
As for Hadid? Well, she looks like a badass '80s rocker with her shag and bangs, and her sculpted cheekbones. It's a beautiful mix of being blessed with good genes and contouring.
Did I mention her mega matte lips? Yeah, well, that goes without saying, since she is posing in advertising for the latest addition the NARS lip family.
Lips for days! I love how smooth and matte-nificent her pucker is.
In another image, which is equally rock 'n' roll, Hadid is rocking a darker Powermatte on her pout and NARS founder Francois Nars says that Hadid is the perfect model on which to debut this product, thanks both her boldness and its boldness. In the first image, her PowerMatte looks a bit brick in hue. If you scroll through the gallery, another is a soft, pale pink.
Bring on the Powermattes.
