Royal Stewards Working Prince Harry & Megan Markle's Wedding Are Actually Being Made To Watch 'Suits'

Just when you thought the upcoming Royal nuptials couldn't get any better: stewards working Meghan Markle's wedding have been instructed to watch Suits so they'll be up to speed on potential guests for Markle and Prince Harry's big day. Captain of the Lay Stewards Hugo Vickers told The Daily Mail, "I’ve told the Stewards to get Netflix and watch Suits, so they know who everyone is at the wedding." They'll have to get a move on. The official engagement announcement confirmed that the royal wedding will take place in May 2018, so we're already less than half a year away.

According to Vogue, Prince Harry's wedding "may be later in the month, so as not to conflict with local elections" and also to give Markle's future sister-in-law Kate Middleton time to rest up after the birth of her third child (which Kensington Palace tweeted was due in April 2018). Here's hoping it'll be in late May, because watching the entirety of the legal drama is a big ask. For a start, it's seven seasons long. According to Binge Clock, if you were to take the reckless decision to bingewatch Suits from start to finish without breaks it would take four days and ten hours.

However, if the stewards want to save over four days of their lives watching Suits, we've got them covered. The most obvious possible wedding guest from the show would be Patrick J. Adams, the actor who played Markle's on-screen paramour and the show's protagonist Mike Ross for, as he termed it on Twitter, "the better part of a decade." On the series, Ross is one of the world's greatest bullshit artists, working as a lawyer despite being unlicensed to do so. And if stewards struggle to recognize the man, they should look to his equally famous wife — E! Online reported in December 2016 that Adams married Troian Bellisario, also known as Spencer from Pretty Little Liars, and she would presumably be his date to the wedding.

Actor Sarah Rafferty, who according to IMDb plays Donna Paulsen, the Chief Operating Officer at Pearson Specter Litt is also likely to make an appearance. Popsugar reports that Markle calls Rafferty her "Suits sister wife", while an InStyle interview with Rafferty in January 2017 recorded the star waxing lyrical about their on-screen friendship, describing an "honest" on-screen bond between Donna and Rachel Zane, Markle's character. Instagram also shows Prince Harry's future wife enjoying drinks with the redhead.

One other Suits star who's almost certainly going to be at the ceremony is Amanda Schull, who plays Katrina Bennett on the show, a senior associate working at the firm. The Express is speculating that Schull could even be a a bridesmaid. One of Schull's Instagram posts showing her with Markle suggests how close they are, with the blonde describing her as her "#girlcrush" and confiding in her Instagram audience that she's been in love with Markle for a while now. It would also make sense if Gina Torres, who plays Jessica Pearson on the show, was also at the ceremony. After all, according to IMDb, the pair have acted alongside each other since the Suits pilot in 2011 and according to OK Magazine, Prince Harry and Markle even went on double dates with Torres and her then-husband Laurence Fishburne earlier in 2017.

Still, all this said, if the stewards want to watch the show for the sake of pure enjoyment, rather than to scope out potential wedding guests, they wouldn't be alone. The last season, Season 7, got an 80 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and The Ringer said of it "If you watch a handful of episodes from any season, you’ll quickly find its pleasures are obvious and easy to digest. Suits isn’t prestige, but it is luxury television."

This said, spring is coming and four days and ten hours is a lot of television. Our best advice of all for the stewards (and anyone else who wants to get up to speed on Markle's former day job)? Start early, so you can savour, not binge.
