Despite their many ups and downs, Luke Danes was a proud uncle whenever Jess Mariano did something right. The same can be said for the actors who brought Luke and Jess to life. On Friday, Scott Patterson congratulated Milo Ventimiglia on his Emmy nomination for his role as Jack Pearson in This Is Us. "Congrats, bro! Proud of you and well deserved!" Patterson tweeted his TV nephew. Ventimiglia replied, "Thank you brother. Mi."
Clearly, Patterson knows, just like every other This Is Us fan, that Ventimiglia's performance was absolutely Emmy-worthy. Luke probably would've reacted the same way if Jess were honored in such a massive way. There's no doubt he was proud when Jess got his life together and even published his own book.
The love between Gilmore Girls co-stars never gets old. On Tuesday, Lauren Graham celebrated Alexis Bledel's Emmy nomination, who earned a nod for her role in Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale. "Congratulations, @alexisbledel, for the nom for your beautiful work on @HandmaidsOnHulu! So excited and happy for you. Brava! Love, LG." It's just like Lorelai congratulating Rory.
It's unfortunate that Gilmore Girls didn't receive any Emmy nominations, especially Graham and Kelly Bishop for their outstanding performances in Netflix's Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, but the cast recognizing their former co-star's achievements makes up for the snub at least somewhat.
Can you imagine if Patterson would've called Ventimiglia "nephew" or "Jess" instead of "bro." They missed an opportunity, but there's no arguing that the tweets are still wonderful.
