Bustle's Editors On Equal Pay Day + 'Game Of Thrones'

by Rachel Simon

It's the last day of July — how crazy is that? Summer is truly speeding by at a breakneck pace, and August will undoubtedly be here and gone before we know it. *Sigh*

But July isn't going out quietly. There's been plenty of news this month to keep us all busy, and today was no exception. Read on for a recap of everything that got Bustle's editors talking today, Monday July 31.

Anthony Scaramucci + Goodbye

After just about a week as Trump's communications director, Anthony Scaramucci has been removed from the position. Reportedly, the president's new chief of staff, John Kelly, requested that Scaramucci be let go, and so the controversial director is out of a job. Just another day in Trump world...

Meme Alert: No surprise here, there are already plenty of great memes and jokes about Scaramucci's exit. Enjoy!

Equal Pay Day + Black Women

Today, July 31, is Black Women's Equal Pay Day, which notes the number of months into the year it takes black women to work in order to earn the same amount of pay as white and non-Hispanic men. If you don't know much about the day, educate yourself, and (like Serena Williams did today) spread the word. It's up to us to make sure that equal pay becomes a reality for women, especially those of color for whom the wage gap is even bigger.

Game Of Thrones + What You Missed

Last night's episode of GoT was pretty huge, as spoilers ahead! — Dany and Jon had the meeting fans had been waiting seven seasons to see. But that wasn't all that happened: Cersei got some revenge, Bran and Sansa had a mini-Stark reunion, and Lady Olenna went out with a bang. In other words, this season of Thrones is shaping up to be a doozy.
