With Felicity Jones leading a stacked ensemble cast as a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg, On The Basis of Sex (now in theaters) tells the true story of the young lawyer as she teams up with her husband Marty (played by Armie Hammer) to bring a landmark gender equality case before the U.S. Court of Appeals. After all, before she was standing up for what's right in the highest court of the land, she was a lawyer just starting out.
We see Ginsburg passionately go to bat against gender discrimination, which impacts her both personally and politically. She walks through the fires of sexism and public scrutiny and emerges a modern American heroine. Directed by powerhouse Mimi Leder, the story is an emotionally resonant showcase of one woman's unflinching commitment to equality.
To commemorate Ginsburg's legendary judicial career, the film premiered on the feminist icon's 25th anniversary in court. And with the "All Rise" collection, you'll know exactly what to wear to the movie when you inevitably see it three times in theaters.
