We're about to experience our second full moon in one month, so, how is everybody feeling? Are your diary pages full yet? If you're wondering what does it mean if the full moon is in Leo, and you've been too busy in the new year to check in with yourself, you might want to take this time to reflect. Full moons typically bring a dose of emotions and with the moon moving into Leo, they could run high.

As the full moon rises on Jan. 31, it illuminates more than just the darkness of our bedroom, it also brings light to issues affecting our daily lives. Typically, if you were to light candles and conduct a ritual, you would be focusing on releasing something that will ultimately cleanse you as you move forward. Whether you have a few sentences or a novel to clear from your consciousness, the full moon is the time to let go of what holds you back. There are 11 more months in 2018 and you'll want to get rid of inhibitors that prevent you from expressing yourself. Because with the moon entering Leo, you'll be craving a spot in center stage. Get your journals ready and your candles lit, it's time to beam into the new year.

As the sun revolves out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, the moon rotates its way from Cancer to Leo. As told by Tarot.com, "when the Moon is moving through Leo, regardless of how you normally feel ... you'll be more apt to tell people that you love them, or express your appreciation for them." Because Leo is the sign of expressing oneself, you'll be drawn towards the spotlight — even if that just means starring in your own Instagram Live. This is a time to express yourself, flaunt your originality and creativity and discover new ways to hone success in the months to come.

But, astrologists are also quick to point out that the second full moon of January is also the first lunar eclipse of the year. Allure explained, "This total lunar eclipse will add a new layer to January’s revolutionary energy: While Aquarius symbolizes the populace, Leo represents the ruler. This lunar motion will motivate us to use our personal resources, influence, and prestige to manifest comprehensive change." It's important to shed what no longer serves you. Whether that is mean mutterings to your self worth, something that shackles you or someone who doesn't actually have your back. The full moon beams are ~vibing~ with you. Get in touch with how you feel and pick your path from there.

There's a lot of change currently occurring. Namely, a new year. Cafe Astrology advised, "a general rule of thumb regarding eclipses is to avoid major decision-making in the week before and after an eclipse." This doesn't mean you have to halt progress on a project or something that's in the works, but, a reminder of the significance of reflection. While you might be ready to jump into the spotlight, change your brand and propel yourself forward under the Leo energy, but kick back and reflect first.

We all might feel ~emotional~ with the lunar eclipse and moon in Leo, but all those feels can be utilized as fuel. Toss what doesn't make you happy and move forward harping on the things that accentuate your talents. I'll be with journal in hand the night of Jan. 31 jotting down my goals, what's holding me back and how to navigate the terrain forward with the identified obstacles. It could get emotional, but there's ice cream and tissues and the good, renewed energy of the year to help with that.
