Will Emilia Clarke Be At The MTV Movie & TV Awards? The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Star May Have To Miss This Year’s Show

The 26th MTV Movie & TV Awards less than a week away, so you know what that means: It's high time to get your prediction ballots all squared away (who says the Oscars are the only award show to bet on?). While I cannot say for sure who will and won’t win each category, I do have one hunch that I'd definitely put money on: We probably won’t see Daenerys Targaryen at MTV’s annual event. Yes, she is one of the performers nominated for Best Actor in a Show, but there is a solid chance Emilia Clarke won’t be at the MTV Movie & TV Awards. I suspect she may be busy with something that rhymes with "schmuntitled Schman Schmolo schmovie."

Last November, the Star Wars website announced that Clarke will be in the standalone Han Solo flick. Her character’s name and backstory remain shrouded in a cloak of mystery, but here is what we do know: Clarke is one of the leads. Production on the untitled Han Solo movie is reportedly currently underway, so I think it is relatively safe to assume Clarke will probably be on location filming this Sunday. Ya know, because she’s a lead. Unless the untitled Han Solo movie happens to be shooting at or near Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, I doubt Clarke will have time to pop by the event. Same probably goes for co-star and fellow Best Actor in a Show nominee Lando Calrissian, er, Donald Glover. Again, these are just hunches, so please don't yell at me if I'm wrong.

If neither Clarke nor Glover appear at the MTV Movie & TV Awards this year, I will miss their beautiful, talented faces. But before my fear can lead to anger, I’ll remember the untitled Han Solo movie. The Dark Side won’t win this round.
