Celia Darrough

Celia Darrough is currently a freelance journalist covering national news and politics. She was previously the senior news editor at Bustle, where she oversaw special projects, in-depth reporting, and personal essays and op-eds about politics and news of the day. Prior to that, she was Bustle's news editor and associate news editor, and she managed a staff of 15-20 writers and day-to-day reporting on national news. Her byline has appeared in Refinery29, Thrillist, Mic, the Pacific Northwest Inlander, and various other places on the internet. As a young reporter, Celia focused on the health and public safety beats, and she still can't resist a good crime story. She earned her master's degree in journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism and her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Oregon. Celia is a proud Alaskan who has lived most of her life in the Northwest and the Midwest, but still can't figure out where she wants to settle. She loves traveling, grammar, and women's rights, and you can follow her on Twitter @celiadarrough.
