Rawda Fawaz is a second year Echols scholar and University Achievement scholar at the University of Virginia. She recently spent her summer working in policy and advocacy at the Muslim Public Affairs Council in D.C. On campus, Rawda is involved in the Middle Eastern Leadership Council, Sustained Dialogue, Diversity Engagement, and United for Undergraduate for Socioeconomic Diversity, She is also involved in student theatre and does slam poetry. You can usually find Rawda hiding under a tree somewhere trying to read, writing a poem in the back of a bookstore, or arguing with somebody about the tokenization of Muslim women.
