Emmy Rossum Spills on Vintage Engagement Ring

The first thing we want to see when stars get engaged is the ring, right? With their unlimited bank accounts and access to some of the greatest jewelers in the world, celeb rocks are almost always out-of-this-world stunning. Emmy Rossum got engaged to long-time director beau Sam Esmail a few months ago, and now she is finally spilling some details about her stunning diamond ring.

The 29-year-old first stepped out in her new bling in early September, and we couldn't help but notice the super elegant round-cut sparkler she was sporting. But her pretty glitz is not only drop dead gorgeous, it's also completely vintage. The actress dished on her infatuation with the design to People, "I like that it’s old and I like to imagine who wore it before me and the life that they had,” she explains, adding "I don’t know the story behind it, but it’s from 1920 in Paris, so I like that I’ve inherited someone’s story, and I hope that it’s a good one.” A parisian diamond from one of the most stylish eras in history? Now that's definitely a way to be unique. There is something particularly cool about donning a piece of someone else's background, don't you think?
