It's the most wonderful time of the year: Awards season! And, with the Oscars pretty much being one of the most prestigious of awards ceremonies, movie fans have been looking forward to the 2016 Oscars Nominations for months. Well, the time (the very, very early time) is here and the Academy has thrown their love towards certain films. With so many great movies to choose from (Spotlight, Room, Carol) and so many great performances to acknowledge (Brie Larson, Matt Damon, Rooney Mara) there were of course some surprises and some snubs when the list came out. It wouldn't be an awards ceremony if someone wasn't thrilled and someone else totally annoyed.
So, without further ado, here are the movies and actors who will be competing for golden statues of men come Feb. 28. Will this finally be Leonardo DiCaprio's year? We'll have to wait and see!
