Emma Shows Off Flawless New Bangs

by Mary Avant

With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ’s premiere date (May 2) quickly approaching, the press tour for the comic book flick is rapidly coming to a close — a thought that slightly terrifies me, not only because I hate to see star Andrew Garfield’s adorable face and tailored suits go, but also because I don’t know how long it will be until I see the fabulous Emma Stone back on the red carpet again.

This horrifying reality is only made worse due to the fact that the actress has been killing it in the fashion department for her month-long string of Amazing Spider-Man 2 premieres across the globe, whether she was keeping it casual in her Chloé stripes, surprising everyone in her menswear-inspired Saint Laurent suit, or absolutely stunning us with her glam Valentino gown. And it seems the bonafide style star is at it again, showing up to Thursday’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiere in New York City in two stylish and unexpected additions to her fashion repertoire: a girly-meets-edgy Prada gown and blunt new bangs.

From its skin tone-matching, nude hue and artfully draped, flowing skirt to its metal-stud trimming and plunging side panels, the Prada creation was a breathtakingly beautiful reminder of just how well the Spider-Man actress can — and almost always does — carry off effortlessly glamorous ensembles when she steps out on the red carpet.

Stone’s new hairstyle was also a sight to behold. Featuring choppy, eye-level bangs and a slightly lighter shade of red — both of which she showed off with a head full of beachy waves — the actress’s subtle makeover was the perfect casually edgy complement to her sophisticated gown.

Though she shone the brightest, Stone wasn’t the only gorgeous star on the Spider-Man red carpet. British actress Felicity Jones made an appearance, too, looking lovely and ladylike in a retro, pastel yellow dress from Miu Miu. With its sweetheart neckline, bustier boning, embellished pockets, and slightly flared skirt, the ensemble was an ideal pick for a spring premiere — especially when paired with white pumps and of-the-moment orange lips.

Model Selita Ebanks took quite a different approach to dressing for the red carpet, choosing exaggerated shapes, neutral hues, and sleek styling to create an interesting (and surprisingly sexy) look. Featuring wide-leg, high-waist Chloé trousers; a gold chain–embellished button down; basic black pumps; and slicked-back hair, Ebanks’s ensemble was a bold pick that really paid off.

Though this may be one of our last chances to marvel over Stone’s (and other Hollywood stars’) amazing Spider-Man red carpet style for the foreseeable future, it's fortunate that her outfit was fabulous enough to sustain us — for a little while, at least.
