She's Going To Be Singing Again Soon!

by Aly Semigran

Leeeeeeet the sunshine in. There's plenty to sing about today because director/producer/choreographer extraordinaire Adam Shankman announced via Instagram the cast for his revival of the Tony-winning hippie musical Hair at the Hollywood Bowl this summer. Posting a photo of the cast, musical theater fans learned that this production of Hair will feature Kristen Bell (you may have heard of her from a little something called Frozen ), 2 Broke Girls star Beth Behrs, singer Mario, Broadway vets Hunter Parrish and Benjamin Walker, as well as Glee cast members Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz. (Not pictured is fellow cast member Beverly D'Angelo.)

Bell will shift gears from her saccharine sweet Frozen character Princess Anna to play Shelia, a free-spirited protester who finds herself in the middle of a love triangle in the 1960's. (Sorry kiddos, but if you're a fan of Frozen, you may not be allowed to see the musical just yet, which features some nudity, simulated drug use, and profanity...in addition to peace, love, flowers, happiness, and rock n'roll.) But, appearing in politically and sexually charged, button-pushing musicals with a powerful message isn't something new for the entire cast. Riley and Ushkowitz have certainly sang and danced about some hot topics during their time on Glee, while Parrish starred on Broadway in Spring Awakening, and Walker, also on the Great White Way, in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Hair at the Hollywood Bowl will take place from August 1-3. Tickets are currently on sale.

No matter how you feel about this particular cast and their ability to belt out classic tunes like "Good Morning Starshine" you have to admit... it's going to be hard for any of them to top the Hair homage by the cast of The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Relive that magic here:
