9 Healthy Snacks to Get You Through New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is like an especially stylish edition of the Hunger Games. At times, it may seem glamorous, but mostly, it’s a fight to the death — or the front row of Marc Jacobs. There are only two things that will save you: the first is your ability to run in heels, and the second is snacks. Lots of them.

Let’s face it: by the second week of shows, you’ll be starving. You’ll scavenge the Lincoln Center tents for a Diet Coke, and in your darkest hour, you might even contemplate nibbling on your leather handbag. This is when you put the Fendi down and pull yourself together. As Bustle’s resident foodie-turned-model, I rounded up my essential survival menu of Fashion Week snacks, from granola bars to rice balls. Whether you’re attending the shows or watching from the sidelines, these recipes will see you through the season. Whip them up, throw them in your bag, and get ready for one heck of a ride.

Watermelon Juice

Never leave the water bottle behind, of course — but when you’re running between shows, fresh watermelon juice à la Cookie and Kate is a godsend. You can thank me later.

Green Recovery Smoothie

Need something heartier? Packed with electrolyte-rich celery and banana, this smoothie from Green Kitchen Stories lives up to its name.

Nutella Muffins

Breakfast? Ain’t nobody got time for that. If you can’t sit down for a meal, at least pack one (or five) of these Nutella-stuffed muffins. In my defense, they’re made with whole wheat flour and zucchini, so they’re totally healthy. Sort of. Thanks, Half Baked Harvest!

Dried Fruit

We know you love fresh fruit, but sticky fingers aren’t exactly on trend. Luckily, our friends at the Kitchn show us how to dry all that end-of-summer produce for the perfect snack.

Hazelnut Cocoa Granola Bars

Dried too many berries? Toss them into a granola bar or whip up this hazelnut-studded version from My Name Is Yeh.

Strawberry Fruit Leathers

Yes, fruit roll-ups are totally respectable for adults…especially if you make them yourself and call them fruit leathers. Thanks, Kirbie’s Cravings!

Pocky

Okay. I lied about the whole “healthy snacks” thing. Pocky has absolutely no nutritional value, except for the fact that it’s covered in chocolate and good for the soul. My Name Is Yeh shows us how to DIY your favorite childhood treat.

Honey Nut Cheerio Bars

While we’re throwing back to childhood snacks, make sure to stow away one of these Cheerio bars. It’s everything you loved about the original — just dressed up with coconut oil and cashews. Half Baked Harvest breaks it down.

Honey Bacon Onigiri

Now that Fashion Week is in full swing, we’re getting creative with our work lunches. Since, you know, there’s no toaster over at the Lincoln Center, these adorable, fuss-free rice balls from My Name Is Yeh are just the thing.
