Old Navy Is Revolutionizing The Shopping Experience For Women In 3 Major Ways

The style destination aims to make fashion more inclusive.

Old Navy is shaking up shopping as we know it. Their brand-new BODEQUALITY movement aims to make shopping more inclusive — and fun! — for more women. Here’s the gist: All styles are available in sizes 0-30 at the same price, there’s absolutely no separate section for plus-size, and they’ve developed a modernized fit that you can rely on.

Fat tax? Don’t know her.

In some stores, you might find plus-size styles are more expensive than straight-size options. Sometimes referred to as the “fat tax,” this extra charge will no longer exist at Old Navy. Instead, all sizes will be priced the same across its entire size range of 0 to 30 (both online and in stores).

The ability to shop equally is what customers want, and Old Navy is listening. When you and your besties enter the store, you’ll be able to stick together — as shopping buddies should! All sizes will be in the same area with the same pricing. (Bonus: If you need a friendly second opinion, you won’t have to yell across the store.)

The comprehensive experience also extends to online shopping. No need to look for the plus-size section on Old Navy’s website — every size will be hanging out together. All items will be shown on a size 4, 12, and 18 model, both online and on mannequins in stores.

The fit is it.

Old Navy gave its sizing a complete makeover and did the homework to boot. Over a span of three years, the retailer tapped researchers and a diverse range of live fit models to create a truly consistent size range.

As part of its research, Old Navy not only gave customers the mic to voice their concerns — they actually did something about it. Sleeve openings were adjusted to ensure bras won’t show, and styles like jeans now address varied heights. Another major move? Old Navy recognizes that not everyone has an hourglass shape, so they re-engineered every size and style to look as great as it feels on every body.
