Someone Sends Dorinda A Love Letter On 'RHONY'

by Laura Rosenfeld

Though Bravo may have aired the third and final part of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 reunion last Thursday night, but that doesn't mean RHONY is completely done yet. Bravo aired a "Secrets Revealed" episode Thursday night, as it usually does at the end of the season for its reality series, and in it, we got to see some funny outtakes from what has been an overall dramatic and satisfying season. In one of the vignettes, Dorinda Medley told Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan all about a love letter she recently received in her email inbox, and it's pretty unbelievable who it was from.

Obviously, you would think that Dorinda's current boyfriend John Mahdessian sent her a little something over the Interwebs, and if you guessed that, you would be wrong. The love letter was actually from Dorinda's late husband Richard.

Yeah, I'm just as confused as you are. Apparently, Dorinda was going through her email, and she suddenly stumbled upon an unopened email Richard had sent to her in 2007. I don't know how that happens exactly, but it sounds a lot like something I once saw in an episode of that trippy British series Black Mirror, so maybe seemingly supernatural occurrences do really happen to people.

"It was so creepy... and wonderful," Dorinda said, which just about sums it up don't you think? However, once Dorinda actually started reading the love letter, it soon became clear that it was definitely more wonderful than creepy.

In the letter, Richard gushed about his love for Dorinda, even when she snored in the bed next to him. The note was so lovely apparently that it brought Ramona and Sonja to tears. All three women have loved and lost, so it's no surprise that something so sweet would make them so emotional.

Richard's sudden death in 2011 is obviously a big part of Dorinda's life, and as such, it was a major part of Season 7 of RHONY, too. Fellow young widows Dorinda and Carole Radziwill opened up to each other about the pain of watching their husbands in their final days. Even though Dorinda currently has a boyfriend, it was clear her love for Richard will never die.

And this isn't even the first time Richard has appeared to send Dorinda a message from beyond the grave. Earlier this season, we learned that shortly after Richard's death, a balloon miraculously floated from the ground to the ceiling in Dorinda's house. RHONY even showed the video Dorinda took of it on her iPhone, and it was kind of magical.

Now I don't know if any of this actually means anything, but these little messages from Richard years after he's gone seem to put a smile on Dorinda's face, and in the words of Ramona, "If Dorinda's happy, I'm happy."
