Ramona Does A 'RHONY' First At The Reunion

by Laura Rosenfeld

We've seen a lot of bizarre and unbelievable things during seven seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City , but this has to be the most unexpected. Real Housewives reunions are really just shouting matches, but part three of the reunion, which aired on Bravo Thursday night, was apparently not entertaining enough to hold Ramona Singer's interest. That's right. Ramona actually fell asleep during the RHONY reunion, and it might just be my favorite moment of the whole season.

I usually come away from watching Real Housewives reunions with a huge headache because of all of the non-stop yelling that fills the episode. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw Ramona's eyelids starting to get a tad heavy. Then, her eyes finally closed, and that was it. Ramona was out like a light. It was brief, but she did admit to falling asleep, which I believe is the only thing Ramona has owned up to this whole season. This season really has been a new beginning for Ramona!

However, I can't really say I blame Ramona for dozing off. The beginning of part three of the RHONY reunion was a bit ho-hum. This installment started out with everyone being happy for Sonja Morgan's success with her fashion line and an apology from Sonja to Kristen Taekman after the whole toaster oven debacle from the season finale. Then, Carole Radziwill and Dorinda Medley discussed how they bonded over their status as widows and the healing they felt during their trip to London this season. This was sweet to watch, but it was still a quiet moment of the reunion that might be difficult to hold your interest if you're an exhausted Ramona Coaster.

All of the other Housewives and host Andy Cohen were all equally shocked and delighted to see Ramona take a little catnap during the reunion. Andy even said that in all of the hundreds of hours of Real Housewives reunions that he has emceed, he has never seen anyone fall asleep. I mean, having to fend off a raging Teresa Giudice will definitely keep you alert.

"This is amazing," Andy said during the reunion. "You surprise me so much every year. This is the new one. This is new."

Yes, Andy, it was amazing. And I thank you so much for it, Ramona. I will never forget it.

Andy also pointed out that Ramona was the first Housewife to walk off the set of a reunion, so clearly she knows how to keep things interesting at these tapings, even if she has a hard time keeping herself awake.
