Meet 'Real Housewives Of Potomac's Gizelle Bryant

by Marenah Dobin

I always have mixed feelings when I have to get to know a new cast member on Real Housewives. On one hand, I'm interested in "meeting" someone new. But on the other, I'm scared the new person is going to be someone who's annoying or even worse, someone who's boring. Now that there's a new city coming to the franchise, I have even more mixed feelings about what to expect. Who are these women on Real Housewives of Potomac ? What do we know about them? One women who stands out to me after watching the trailer for Real Housewives of Potomac is Gizelle Bryant. What do we know about her? Of course she is beautiful and wealthy, but does she have what it takes to bring the right amount of drama to the series?

Bryant certainly has a lot going on and seems to be a fit for reality television. She's far from the kind of person who puts all of her eggs in one basket. Bryant is focused on her family as well as entrepreneurship — something that is very important for a Real Housewife — and she even has pre-Real Housewives Bravo connections. She is a well-rounded person that I am definitely interested in watching on RHOP. For now, get to know more about the woman who could be your next favorite Housewife.

She Is A Single Mom

Bryant is a very involved mother of three daughters named Grace, Angel, and Adore with her ex-husband Jamal.

She Is A Philanthropist

She is very involved in many charities. One of her biggest passions is working with the city council of Birmingham, Alabama to help raise funds to revive the community.

She Is Working On A Makeup Line

The new reality star is working on a makeup line that specializes on meeting the specific needs of women with color. Her line is set to come out in 2016.

She Has A Political Family

Bryant's father, Curtis Graves, was the first African American to serve as a member of the Texas House of Representatives. He also worked for NASA later in life.

She Already Had Bravo Connections

It was only a matter of time before Bryant ended up on Bravo. She has been seen hanging out with Thicker Than Water's Britney Tankard. She has had Twitter conversations with Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes in the past. She has also sold her own line of baked goods in Top Chef contestant Timothy Dean's restaurant.

She Is CPR Certified

Bryant is all about being the best mom she can be and that is why she is both CPR and first aid certified.

She Was In A Sorority

She is a proud alum of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority's Hampton University chapter.

She's Not Afraid To Take Matters Into Her Own Hands

Given her family background, it makes sense for Bryant to have an interest and passion for history. She even took it upon herself to create Black History Month bulletin boards in her children's school when no one else did.

Gizelle Bryant seems like a well rounded woman and a great addition to the Real Housewives franchise. I can't wait to see what she brings to RHOP.
