So, you've got a wedding speech to write, and even if you've done it before, it still remains one tricky task. I was my sister's maid of honor at 17, and I was terrified. I was not only determined to make my speech special, but to bring the audience to tears with romantic quotes and anecdotes. Even though I was shaky and nervous, it was an exhilarating experience that I would do again and again. And now that one of my best friend's wedding is approaching, I'm writing a new one, and this time, I'm turning to the most romantic and wisdom filled quotes ever written for inspiration — which is obviously Harry Potter.

If you're anything like me, don't freak out, just breathe. You're much more capable of doing this than you probably think you are. Know why? You know this bride inside and out. You both grew up reading and cherishing Harry Potter, connecting the two of you in a magical way. Your speech is going to remind her of how much you love her, and you're going to do a kick-ass job at it.

Whether you're staring at a blank page trying to figure out where to start or writing the last sentence, you can always use a little extra Harry Potter inspiration. Here are 11 romantic, charming, and heartfelt quotes from the series that taught us how to love, and that will be perfect additions to your incredible wedding speech:

1. "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

You could relate this specifically to the bride, sharing silly and cute stories of your past together, or talk about the both of them and who they've grown to be in their relationship.

2. "We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

This one will definitely bring the bride to tears by showing her how strong her and her partner are together. And of course, as strong as the two of you are together — just because she's married doesn't mean you're going anywhere.

3. "Age is foolish and forgetful when it underestimates youth."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

If the couple fell in love at a young age, this is a perfect quote to sum up their love-crazy days that you were definitely a part of.

4. "Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Reminding a newlywed couple to keep their hearts and minds open to this new journey is an ideal way to start off a wonderful relationship.

5. "Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This would be a great quote to open with and help segue into your heartwarming speech you have prepared.

6. "You are protected, in short, by your ability to love!"

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

This will guarantee plenty of "aww!"'s

7. "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

These two getting married chose each other, just like you and the bride chose to be friends so long ago.

8. "Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."

— Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

A classic quote that'll remind the newlyweds, and the entire audience, just how important it is to look for the light in all situations.

9. "Oh, to be young and to feel love's keen sting."

—Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Once again, this is a great one to describe a young couple head over heels in love with each other. Remind them embrace it, because overwhelming love is pure magic!

10. "It is impossible to manufacture or imitate love."

— Professor Slughorn, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

This one makes me tear up a little bit just thinking about using it in a wedding speech.

11. "Always."

— Severus Snape, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

A classic that you just can't go wrong with: Always. Their love is many things, as is your love for the bride, but one thing you all have in common is that you'll always love each other.
