Kimye Edited This Pic for 4 Days

by Lia Beck

You see that photo up there? The one you've probably seen countless times since you are someone who knows how to use the Internet? That picture took FOUR days to Photoshop and that isn't just some wacky rumor. At the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference on Tuesday, Kanye West said Annie Leibovitz ditched the Kimye wedding at the last minute leading them to hire another, less famous photographer. This meant that West and his new wife Kim Kardashian had to spend four days editing a photo of them kissing that some idiot who doesn't understand white balance took so it would be perfect for Instagram. Yes. This is a true story.

According to Page Six , West said,

Let me tell you something about that kiss photo that my girl put up … this was pissing my girl off during the honeymoon, she was exhausted because we worked on the photo so much because Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding. I think that she was, like, scared of the idea of celebrity.

Because Annie pulled out, I was like, ‘Okay, I still want my wedding photos to look like Annie Leibovitz,’ and we sat there and worked on that photo for, like, four days because the flowers were off-color.

Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the No. 1 person on Instagram, ‘We need to work on the color of the flower wall,’ or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet.

Obviously, there is a lot of amazingness to deal with here (and his other quotes from the conference don't disappoint either), but the strangest thing has got to be the "Can you imagine telling someone..." part. Is he referring to himself? Was Kanye worried about telling Kim that the color of the flower wall was off? Because he definitely should have just not told her. Or maybe, maybe, if he had to say something, could have been like, "Hey, that flower wall looks a little too yellow, but, ya know, we're on our honeymoon, so maybe we should just chill and not Photoshop a picture for four days."

The photo did become the most liked photo on Instagram ever, so the efforts paid off. And Kimye did go on a second honeymoon in Mexico, so that worked out too, I suppose.

This whole thing is just soooo them. I feel confident that they loved working on this together and when the photo broke the Instagram record they popped open a bottle of Moët and were like, "We did it! It was all worth it! I love you so much!!!"
