Kim Kardashian's Wedding Photo Broke Instagram's Record for Most Likes & That's Not a Surprise
The world is still trying to adjust to the fact that Kim Kardashian is now Kim Kardashian West and not just because very few of us were actually expecting Kardashian to change her name this time. The Kimye Wedding is still a thing of mystery and allure, leaving lingering questions that apparently won't be answered until after the next season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians finishes airing, but what little details we know have been surprisingly sweet and very, very Kimye. The pictures from Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding fell under that heading and it comes as no surprise that people went crazy over them. Apparently, they went so crazy that Kim Kardashian's wedding photos have broken an Instagram record, beating out Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez for the title of "Most Likes".
Wait, whaaaat? According to E! Online, the Instagram picture that was previously holding the record for Most Likes was a photograph that Bieber posted five months ago of himself being hugged from behind by Selena Gomez. It was captioned "Love the way you look at me" and had 1.82 million likes. Kardashian's wedding photo, which was posted three days ago, has gotten 1.95 million likes in that time, beating out Bieber by kind of a lot.
Then again, that's hardly a surprise at this point. Say what you want about West or Kardashian or Kimye as a couple, but the two genuinely seem to adore one another and even arguably make one another better people. Bieber and Gomez have an uncertain on-off relationship that currently appears to be very off. Despite rumors that Gomez and Bieber had reunited, there are now reports that Bieber hooked up with Adriana Lima. Whether you believe Bieber and Gomez were ultimately meant to be or not, the fact still remains that their relationship is far from healthy as it currently stands.
Kardashian and West, on the other hand, are off on their honeymoon and have revealed just enough (or just little enough) of their nuptials to make even the smallest detail something the Internet can buzz over for days at a time. Quite frankly, I want to hear less about Bieber and Gomez, not more, while simultaneously being busy trying to figure out where Kimye got their matching JUST MARRIED jackets.
No doubt the film of Kimye's wedding is going to break a few television viewing records as well, but for now she can hold tight to her Instagram fame. At least it's nice that she achieved this title for a sweet picture of her and her new husband kissing rather than for one of her bikini selfies.
