6 Disney Princesses Take the Ice Bucket Challenge

by Kadeen Griffiths

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been raising money and awareness for a great cause, but it's also been giving everyone a huge amount of enjoyment from the sheer number of celebrities lining up to dump ice water over their heads and then nominate other celebrities to do it, too. When we started getting moments like Lady Gaga nominating Adele after being nominated by Jared Eng of JustJared, or Justin Bieber nominating President Obama, the Ice Bucket Challenge went viral and shows no signs of stopping any time soon. As it is, it's pretty much the most fun way to raise awareness out there right now.

Eventually, however, we are going to run out of celebrities to take the challenge. We're still waiting for the likes of President Obama and Prince Harry to do it, but what about fictional celebrities? All we need is one person to challenge a Disney princess to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and we could have a host of Disney animators working together to create clips of the princesses from the official line up taking the challenge and nominating others.

Or, you know, we here at Bustle can imagine it for you.

Anna, Frozen

Considering the entire plot of Frozen, it wouldn't surprise me for Anna to be the first princess to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Maybe she heard about it from one of the travelers after Elsa opened the gates. Maybe she heard about it from Olaf, who immediately nominated her for the challenge because he's made of ice. However she hears about it, she wouldn't be Anna if she didn't nominate her sister right after she was done.

Elsa, Frozen

It would probably take some effort to get the Queen of Arendelle to agree to the Ice Bucket Challenge. Knowing Elsa, she'd probably just want to donate and avoid the whole filming-herself-getting-a-bucket-of-ice-water-dumped-over-her-head thing. However, there are very few things in the world that Elsa wouldn't do if Anna asked her to and, hey, the cold never bothered her, anyway. As for nominations, well, water never bothered...

Ariel, The Little Mermaid

Considering the fact that Anna is basically Elsa's only friend, later relationship with Kristoff notwithstanding, it might be hard for her to decide on which other princess to nominate to take the challenge. But Anna and Elsa live right next to a fjord, so it's not a stretch to think that they might have heard of Princess Ariel. Ariel's enamored with all things human, so she didn't even need much convincing to take the challenge. And speaking of independent princesses who go against their families...

Pocahontas, Pocahontas

Pocahontas has an entire song in her film that takes place on the river, so she's another Disney princess who isn't really bothered by water. Even if it's freezing. Besides, the ALS challenge is for a great cause and Pocahontas is basically the original social activist of Disney princesses. Everyone else was in it for themselves, but Pocahontas was preaching tolerance and changing the world. But since she's actually a chief's daughter who doesn't actually hold the title of "princess," she's going to nominate one of the common-born princesses in the line-up...

Cinderella, Cinderella

Cinderella didn't become a princess until she married her Prince Charming. Before then, her best friends were mice and birds. Sure, she had a Fairy Godmother, but everything else Cinderella had to do herself or with her animal friends. Naturally, it's up to them to help her take an icy water bath for a good cause. After which she's going to nominate...

Jasmine, Aladdin

Princess Jasmine lives in the middle of the desert, so an icy waterfall over her head is probably a blissful experience for her. Sure, it's colder in the desert at night than it is during the hot day, but Aladdin and Jasmine clearly have more heat between them than the ice water can soothe. As for who Jasmine nominates? Well, you can bet that Prince Ali Ababwa is taking a magic carpet ride through an icy waterfall pretty soon.
