Elizabeth Banks + Elie Saab = Sartorial GOLD

by Rosie Narasaki

I just spent the last half-hour or so of my life rhapsodizing about just how awesome Jennifer Lawrence looked in her Dior dress at the London Premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 , but as per usual (this is their third red carpet international tour together), Elizabeth Banks has managed to one-up her.

Tough to believe, I know — but it's true. Ms. Banks wore what is quite possibly the prettiest dress I've ever seen, ever. There are dresses you love for the funkiness, dresses you appreciate for the drama, and dresses that are just... well, made of pretty. And this Elie Saab number is one of those fairy tale-worthy numbers that will haunt your daydreams for months (if not years) to come.

With a gorgeous watercolor-like effect, it starts blue from the bottom up, which ombrés quite nicely into beige, which is then overlaid with the most decadent shade of crimson red. The free-flowing silk skirt seems to go on for miles as it combines seamlessly with the cape (there's an honest-to-god cape!), and the tiny jewels scattered sporadically throughout elevate it all to perfection. Basically, it's fairy queen, Titania-worthy gorgeousness that makes my retinas ecstatic.

Take a look, and tell me this isn't the prettiest dress you've ever seen:
