8 Motherhood Lessons From Kourtney Kardashian

by Nicole Pomarico

If I could choose any of the Kardashians to be my mom, I'd definitely pick Kourtney. From the moment she delivered Mason — and casually pulled him out of her womb without even batting an eye like Superwoman — it was obvious that she was made to be a mom. Every scene Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick share with their children on Keeping Up With The Kardashians is adorable, even on the days when motherhood isn't giving Kourt the best visuals for Instagram. If you ask me, we could all learn a lot from Kourtney. She had three children in a very short span of time (five years is not long!) and she's making it work, not to mention the fact that all her kids are adorable. Kourtney Kardashian is an awesome mom, and it's already showing in her children.

OK, yeah, some things are easier when you're a Kardashian. Kourtney doesn't have to stress about having enough money to buy everything babies need, and she can afford to work outside the home only when she wants to, not out of necessity. But even with Kourtney's advantages, being a mom is hard work, and she rocks it.

It's such hard work, that sometimes your mom's gotta tell some lies (and click here to subscribe to Bustle's YouTube page for more videos):

Here are some lessons about motherhood Kourtney's taught us by being an amazing mom to Mason, Penelope, and Reign. Hey, Kourt, if you ever find the time, think you can do me a favor and write a parenting book? These eight lessons are great, but I'd like about 100 more.

Your Child's Pet Died? Get A New One

Sure, it might not be entirely truthful, but when your kid is young enough, they won't realize that you replaced their fish with another one from the pet store. Works every time, and you don't have to explain death to a two-year-old.

Pick Your Battles

Goldfish on pizza? Sure, as long as it means Mommy gets five minutes of peace.

The Simplest Things Can Make Your Kids Smile

Like a day at the beach. Although this could totally just be because Mason is actually the cutest kid in the entire world.

Use Your Sibling As Babysitters

OK, so I'm not guaranteeing that every single one of your family members are the most qualified people to watch children, but if you want to take a nap or run an errand without a kid attached to your side, then being part of a large family definitely has its perks.

Always Teach Your Children Manners

Mostly so cute moments like this one can happen.

But If Playing With Butter Keeps Them Quiet, Let Them

Some moms might have been more concerned about this situation, but Kourtney was pretty chill. There are more important things to worry about, honestly. Plus, it made for a very cute moment.

Keep A Chill Attitude

You can only be so high-strung when there are kids around. They make messes, they cry — they are basically tiny drunk people. Kourtney knows all you can do is breathe and try your best.

And Don't Forget To Have Fun

They're only kids once!
