The first Monday in May, a.k.a the Met Gala is inarguably the biggest night in fashion. It’s something like Christmas morning for fashion lovers just waiting to see what their favorites will be wearing.

And as one of the world’s top supermodels and biggest style icons of the moment, Kendall Jenner’s appearance on the Met steps is always eagerly anticipated. A Met Ball regular since her first appearance in 2014, the reality star-turned-model is no stranger to the flashing lights and avant-garde looks that come along with what many refer to as “the Oscars of Fashion.”

Almost every time she's attended, Jenner has dropped jaws — going all-out in ultra revealing looks embellished with dazzling crystals, sequins, and, once, massive feather plumage. Known to favor sultry cut-outs and diaphanous dresses, she even put her thong on display under a see-through gown in 2017. (And went for another booty-baring look in 2023.) She’s fearless and you’ve got to love her for it.

Only twice (at her first Met Gala in 2014 and again in 2018) did Jenner sport a more subdued ensemble, giving just as much elegance and style even with the minimalist looks.

To that end, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look back at Kendall Jenner’s hautest outfits.

Celebrating the theme, Jenner wore a custom strapless Topshop gown with a mermaid skirt to her very first Met Ball. One of the most influential fashion designers of the 20th century, James was known for his structured aesthetic. She nailed it.

The following year, Jenner showed off some elegant sideboob. She hit the Met steps in a glistening, green crystal gown by Calvin Klein, featuring strappy open sides.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star donned another dress with a high neckline and side cutouts. She looked ultra-cool in the blue, white, and beige Versace halter gown.

Jenner went with a booty-baring La Perla number for ‘17s event. The see-through look, which she paired with matching Louboutins, also featured a large front cutout detail, a thigh-high slit, and an open back that exposed the matching thong she wore underneath.

2018: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination”

Jenner walked the star-studded carpet with the legendary Virgil Abloh, wearing an Off-White jumpsuit complete with sheer white gloves and flared pants. The pure, all-white look was certainly heavenly.

2019: “Camp: Notes on Fashion”

Giving old-school Las Vegas camp, Jenner went with Versace again in 2019. She took the pink carpet in a bright orange showgirl look covered in feathers.

2021: “In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion”

In September 2021, the runway star turned heads in another fully sheer gown. The crystal-embellished Givenchy Haute Couture gown, which she wore with a sparkling choker, was an homage to the iconic Givenchy gown Audrey Hepburn wore in My Fair Lady. Breathtaking.

2022: “America: An Anthology of Fashion”

A departure from her previous looks, Jenner wore a custom black tulle Prada top featuring a net embroidered overlay. The teeny crop was paired with a dramatic black skirt covered in ruffles.

2023: “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty”

After igniting a pantsless revolution, the effects of which are still felt to this day, Jenner took her no-pants sensibilities to the soirée of all soirées.

At 2023’s Karl Lagerfeld-themed bash, she paid homage to the late designer in a play on his signature suiting. Appropriately, her Marc Jacobs take was utterly yassified (read: crystal-encrusted, sequined, and booty-baring).
