As the buzziest show of NYFW season, LaQuan Smith debuted the next big hair trend everyone will be wearing this fall: the aprés-ski twist. Click through to see how lead hairstylist Lacy Redway created the look — and how you can copy the makeup, too.

First, Redway worked in the TRESemmé One Step Smooth to provide hydration before smoothing on TRESemmé TRES TWO Mega Control Gel to get a super sleek look.

Once the models’ hair was completely smooth, Redway’s team gathered strands into a ponytail and split it in half. Next, the two sections were wrapped into themselves to create a chic tight knot and secured with hairpins.

To lock the hairstyle into place, Redway used the TRESemmé TRES TWO Freeze Hold Hair Spray. “The way LaQuan’s references were described to me, there were references to ski,” Redway told Bustle backstage. “I wanted the hair to feel frozen to play off his inspiration.”

For the icy effect, she finished with the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum. “It’s a super easy look and can transition easily from day to night,” Redway says. “It stays in place; it’s frozen.”

The makeup look was just as cool as the hair. Lead makeup artist Sheika Daley gave models a fierce ’90s-inspired cat-eye.

Instead of using shadow or eyeliner to get that pop of red, Daley opted to use a lip pencil across the eyes for a stunning dramatic eye look that perfectly matched the intensity of the sleek twisted bun.
