Lime Crime Will Match Your Makeup To Your Hair

by Eliza Florendo

Let's talk about rainbow and neon hair for a second: We love it, we can't get enough of it, and we want to dye our hair in each hue everyday like its our job (or is that just me?). But when it comes to matching it with makeup and outfits, it can be a challenge. Enter: Lime Crime's website that'll match lipsticks and hair, no matter how wild the hue. Face it, sometimes you need an expert opinion.

I'm all for Kylie's green locks, or Nicole Richie's purple hair (what a total babe she was in that color, by the way), or Nicki Minaj's and Lady Gaga's pink hair phase. But how exactly do you match it with makeup? I'm not an expert, but I do know that some combos are just a no-no. (Think: Green hair + red lip = Christmas.) And while I love a good mix of colors, certain hues definitely look better with others. Lime Crime's new feature on their website, called Hairspiration, is a game changer when it comes to this dilemma.

If you're not familiar with Lime Crime, they call themselves the "makeup for unicorns." They specialize in crazy colorful, non-traditional lipstick colors that you definitely won't find at your local drugstore! These hues include a vibrant fuchsia, pastel teal, and even a deep black color. Marketed as "lips that speak louder than words," these lipsticks certainly make a statement, and have a pretty insane cult following.

Hairspiration starts by having you pick your hair color, from pink, purple, lavender, grey, blue, green, orange, or mermaid. Then, the program will generate a specific eyeshadow and two lipstick colors that'll pair perfectly with your hair color.

Want to see it in action? Here's how it works. If you click on pink, you'll receive this pairing:

Or, if you choose grey (shout out to the granny hair trend that's still going strong), this combination shows up:

I'm obsessed with the two pairings for grey hair. My favorite part about this new feature is that it mixes in matte and shiny lipsticks, too. Sometimes, you need a little shine, and others, subdued is your lewk for the night.

Say you do go full-on mermaid, a là Georgia May Jagger's rainbow locks — there's a combination out there for you, too.

If you're unsure about the products themselves, their website actually has photos of their fans in their products, so you get a genuine look at what they look like IRL. If you're a lover of bright colored hair, this is one feature you'll definitely want to check out.
