Is It Jax Teller Time Yet?

by Michelle Cathrine Perry

Bikers and betrayal and Charlie Hunnam. Oh my. If you're excited about the final season of FX's Sons of Anarchy , rev your engines and prep some body bags. The show's seventh and final season promises to be just as adrenaline pumped and blood splattered as the last. With unexpected new guest stars like Glee's Lea Michele, Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love in the mix and the loss of some major characters in the previous season, it will be interesting to see where SAMCRO and Jax Teller's morals will end up by series' end. Let's face it: Jax is about to lose it all and it's hard to know who's safe anymore.

I don't know about you but I will be shoveling food into my face and parked in front of my television when on the show returns to FX on Tuesday, September 9 at 9 p.m. ET. I can't wait to fear the freakin' reaper.

But of course, before we move forward, it's important to remember where we left off. Back in Season 6, Gemma made the executive decision to get rid of Tara by stabbing her with a grill fork. According to the showrunner Kurt Sutter's interview with EW, Tara had to die to put Jax in the right place for Season 7. Sutter said, "I knew that, ultimately, where I wanted to take Jax in that final season is I wanted to remove his true north for that last season. I feel like there need[ed] to be, for someone like Jax, a major psychic and emotional shift."

Well, killing someone's "old lady" will certainly do the trick.

Sutter went on to say that Tara's character was set to die before the final season of the show a long time ago. He said that the SOA writers even had it in their heads that she would die as early as the second season. With that kind of emotional plot point, it's certain that the next season will begin with Hunnam's character in a shaky state, even with the planned final season time jump.

With the happenings of the previous season, I'm still revving for a blood bath of the series' lifetime. It seems no one is safe from Jax's impending wrath. Juice, for one instance, is definitely not safe. After betraying Jax, there's very little he can do to protect himself. Will he use Gemma as leverage? We'll just have to wait and see.

Although, should keep in mind that in that same EW interview, Sutter revealed that death will hit the club. "Two club members will be dead. I don't think there will be more than that." Comforting, Mr. Sutter. Very comforting. The series' finale airs very, very soon so we need to prepare ourselves. As we all know, hell hath no fury like Jax Teller scorned by his loved ones. And he has most definitely been scorned.

Are you ready for what's to come to our beloved SAMCRO? If not you better get ready. We will definitely see some drama, my friends. I promise, there will be blood.
