6 Baby Name Suggestions for Blake & Ryan

Even though the year just started, there's already been plenty of exciting (and surprising) celebrity news. From Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden's secret wedding to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' baby, it's only Tuesday morning and it's already been an eventful week. Although news about the Lively-Reynolds baby was announced on Monday night, Lively actually gave birth back in December, near the end of the year. (Sneaky, sneaky!) A source told Us Weekly:

The baby came early but everyone is happy and healthy. The Bedford house is all prepared. They're going to stay up there for the baby's first days.

That's great news! But seriously, why didn't Gossip Girl send us a text about it sooner? It makes sense that Lively would want to keep things private, but come on. Some of us are dying to know the baby's name and gender! (I mean, I can't be the only one, right?)

I'm sure the couple, who tied the knot in September 2012, will share the news soon enough (I'm guessing in one of Lively's Preserve posts). But in the meantime, I've decided to come up with some educated guesses based on what we know about this picture-perfect couple. Since celebrities tend to surprise us with their name choices (Blue Ivy? North West?), it literally could be anything.

Here are a few names I hope Lively and Reynolds chose, if the baby is a girl:

Serena

It'd be a permanent way to remember one of the best Blake Lively characters. That way Serena van der Woodsen could live on forever!

Bridget

Why not name the newborn after Lively's Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants character? Bridget was a strong, confident character — and a great athlete.

Rosemary

On Preserve, Lively recently shared a facial recipe that uses rosemary, thyme, and geranium. This guess is based on the fact that maybe she'd name her baby something cooking-related? Hey, Blake Lively really does love to cook.

On the flip side, here are some name suggestions if it's a mini Ryan, instead of a mini Blake:

Ryan Jr.

A lot of guys tend to name their offspring after themselves. Plus, how awesome would it be to have two Ryan Reynolds in the world?

Lantern

Considering past celeb baby names, this wouldn't be too surprising. Plus, it could be a tribute to The Green Lantern, which these two starred in together. Naming the baby Green (a la Blue Ivy) just seems like a bit of a stretch.

Hal Jordan

Tying into that same idea, maybe they'd opt for a more subtle nod to the DC Comics movie and name the baby boy after the Green Lantern's real name: Hal Jordan.

Hmm, anything is possible, right? Unfortunately we'll just have to wait and see. But until then, my money is on the name Lantern!
