An experienced skier, Princess Diana’s relaxed piste-side style complemented her effortless approach to sports. From ‘80s ski suits to signature sunglasses, Princess Diana was the original ‘alpine chic’ influencer.

Diana didn’t take sport too seriously with flashy equipment, instead opting for a practical ski suit which was fitting of the late ‘80s and ‘90s, and, of course, some killer accessories.

Whatever the weather, Princess Diana’s accessory game never faltered, always heading out onto the slopes with a pair of sunglasses (safety first) and gold hoop earrings completing the look.

Even off the slopes, Diana didn’t drop any style points. Unphased by the snow, she wore a denim jumpsuit, white cowboy boots, and a leather jacket taking Prince William and Prince Harry on a sleigh ride in Lech, Austria.

In later years, Princess Diana swapped out the signature ‘80s ski suit for leopard-print legging-style salopettes and a Bogner ski jacket, making walking in ski boots look like a walk in the park (which is no easy feat).

Diana later switched up her Bogner ski jacket with a bright red puffer jacket over her skin-tight salopettes, teamed with a black polo neck sweater, black ski mittens, and, of course, her signature slope-side accessories: sunglasses and gold hoops.

Skiing with children can be stressful, but Princess Diana always looked happiest with her two sons by her side. Knitted polo neck jumpers became a mainstay of her wardrobe in the early ‘90s, here opting for a white one underneath a peachy pink V-neck sweater on a sleigh ride with William and Harry.

Whilst she always looked effortlessly chic on the slopes, Diana never sacrificed practicality for style, opting for ski goggles and a warm scarf over her head when the weather turned. I mean, who says you can’t do both?
