B(ee) Is For Benedict

Fans were quick to spot the embroidered bee on Benedict’s collar in Season 1. The shirt reappears in the Season 2 episode “Victory,” in which Benedict learns he’s been accepted to art school. But that’s not all the bee means for the second Bridgerton son...

If the show proceeds as expected, Season 3 will be based on the third book in Julia Quinn’s series, An Offer from a Gentleman: a Cinderella-esque story in which Benedict finds his match. The hive of bees on his waistcoat in “Victory” may mark him as the next Bridgerton to wed.

Will Marina Meet A Tragic End?

In the books, Marina dies by suicide, opening the door for her widower to marry Eloise. And even though Marina’s backstory is a different in the series, Season 2 indicates that the writers may have have a similar ending planned for her.

On-page and on-screen, Marina marries her deceased ex's brother. In Season 2, we learn that her scandalous pregnancy resulted in twins, Oliver and Amanda — just like those of her book counterpart. She’s also clearly unhappy in her marriage.

Eloise’s Future Foreshadowed

Bridgerton Season 2 managed to drop a hint at Eloise’s own scandalous future. In the books, Eloise is forced to marry after being caught in a compromising position — a trend among the Bridgertons.

In the books, Eloise goes gallivanting off on an unchaperoned visit to see Marina’s widower, Sir Phillip, without telling anyone that she’s leaving. In Bridgerton Season 2, Eloise does something similarly shocking by visiting a young printshop worker in a grittier part of London.

In one episode, Anthony accidentally falls into the water, giving Edwina and Kate a real eyeful and calling back to the iconic Pride & Prejudice film scene. “I think Anthony is a version of Mr. Darcy throughout the season,” showrunner Chris Van Dusen told Bustle.
