You Totally Forgot About These Britney Collabs
Britney Spears doesn't have a squad like Taylor Swift, but instead seems to be sort of friends with everyone in the music world. While you probably don't remember all of them, Spears has collaborated with a ton of celebs over the course of her long career, proving that she can make nice with all kinds of diverse artists.
Most recently, she and Iggy Azalea collaborated on the track "Pretty Girls." The song did not do well, and it led to a supposed "feud" between Azalea and Spears, with Azalea blaming Spears for the fact that the song flopped. Of course Britney won that feud by tweeting about Azalea's cancelled tour: "Can't wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe."
And that is why you don't try to break into the pop world by feuding with Miss Britney Spears. Many other artists have been a little wiser than Azalea and understood that a collab with Britney is no time to mess around, and it's often yielded good results. From rappers to pop icons, here are 11 Britney Spears collabs that you might have forgotten about, but should totally revisit.
"Me Against The Music Ft. Madonna"
This is a totally underrated Britney song, and it was a great pairing between the queen and princess of pop.
"SMS (Ft. Britney Spears)"
This was not one of the more popular songs on Miley Cyrus' Bangerz, nor was it one of the highlights. Spears' appearance only slightly redeemed the track.
"Drop Dead Beautiful Ft. Sabi"
This was one of my favorites off of Spears' album Femme Fatal. The beat is amazing, and I liked that she included the unknown singer Sabi.
"Till The World Ends (Remix) Ft. Kesha & Nicki Minaj"
I think this remix was a high point in pop culture, in a time when dubstep was a novel concept for pop stars.
"Scream & Shout Ft. Britney Spears"
Remember this will.i.am song? It's pretty silly, but it's my favorite of the many collaborations between will.i.am and Spears.
"S&M (Ft. Britney Spears)"
This song was already great, but Britney's sweet brand of seduction provided a great counterbalance to Rihanna's more powerful voice.
"Tik Tik Boom (Ft. T.I.)"
This was an unfortunately bland Britney song despite the fact that Brit sounds like she's repeating the word "dick" over and over again.
"Tom's Diner Ft. Britney Spears"
This cover mixed by legendary disco artist Giorgio Moroder was pretty recent, but forgotten for good reason.
"Crazy Ft. Britney Spears"
Yep, this Kevin Federline collab happened, and it's not even bad.
"What's It Like To Be Me (Feat. Justin Timberlake)"
Another couple collaboration, but this one, strangely, is less successful and mostly boring.
"I Got That (Boom Boom) Ft. Ying Yang Twins"
This song is totally amazing, and a refreshing direction for a young Brit.
Who will Brit collaborate with next? My money's on The Weeknd or Disclosure, both up-and-coming artists who know how to make a catchy pop song. And no one knows catchy better than Britney Spears.
