K. Stew Lets Her Guard Down With Jimmy Fallon

Kristen Stewart is letting her guard down. The actress, who is often portrayed in the media as being grumpy or stone faced was anything but on Tuesday night. Kristen Stewart played a game a "Word Blurt" with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, and it looks like she had a pretty fun time doing so.

Fallon told the Twilight and Snow White and the Huntsman actress that if their first improv responses to a particular surprise word were the same, it would mean that they were destined to be best friends. "You have so many besties, I don't want to hear that anymore," Stewart joked in response. From words like "selfie" to "marshmallow," their responses were quite different. "Lenny Kravitz" was an especially hilarious blurt, because Fallon did not hesitate to call out, "Penis!" in reference to the singer's recent wardrobe malfunction onstage at a show. A visibly embarrassed Stewart responded, "Piercing!" after she was done laughing. From watching the segment alone, you would never guess that this is the same girl who has long been accused of having one facial expression or who has recently been associated with the phenomenon of "resting b*tch face" in the New York Times.

Stewart is an actress that if she smiles, you know she is being genuine. After all, she often does not smile on the red carpet or other events where it is expected for celebrities to paint on their happy faces just for the cameras. And some people out there love to give her flak for that. But Stewart has pointed out that she does not feel like she has to do so just because she is an actress. Back in 2009, she told the New York Times , "What really kills me — it really rips me up — is when people think I’m abrasive, inconsiderate or ungrateful because I don’t go outside in a bikini and wave to the paparazzi. Come on!"

The thing is, Stewart does smile quite often. But she seems to smile at those who she thinks deserve to see her smile. So for all the criticism she gets and jokes she hears for refusing to smile just because it is expected of her, it is nice to see her having some fun on television. It is her moment to have a good time, free of unflattering and intrusive paparazzi shots.
