Keira Throws It Back To The '80s For 'ELLE'

by May Sofi

I guess one cover wasn't enough to celebrate ELLE's big 30th anniversary — Keira Knightley covers ELLE 's September issue yet again, in a flirty look that pays homage to '80s fashion. The iconic magazine actually revealed three more covers (yes, you read that correctly) featuring Knightley, each with its own unique look. When you reach the big 3-0, it's go big or go home, right? The vibrant '80s-themed shot, though, is undoubtedly the coolest of all the spreads.

The actress dons loud colorful makeup consisting of magenta and lavender eyeshadow, loads of bubblegum pink blush, and bright coral lipstick — It's totally reminiscent of Molly Ringwald circa Sixteen Candles. Her warm brown locks are styled in oversized voluminous waves that look like they've been teased for hours on end.

The look is topped off with pink rhinestone hoops, and a matching rose-colored Chanel dress, making for the most fun and lively magazine cover I've seen this year. Kudos to the hair and makeup artists behind this genius look.

As a die-hard makeup lover, I'm secretly hoping for '80s beauty trends, like the one Keira sports, to become cool again for 2015. What's more exciting than playing with colorful over-the-top shadows and lip shades?

Feast your eyes on the pretty style.

One word: OBSESSED.

The old school cover has me feeling all nostalgic, so let's take a look at the most awesome mag covers from the '80s, shall we?
