Kerry Washington Covers 'SELF' With Ode To The 80s

by May Sofi

While the '90s have definitely made a recent comeback into mainstream fashion, another decade is now having a major moment in the spotlight. Kerry Washington covers SELF Magazine wearing a color-blocked unitard piece that strongly resembles the signature activewear of the '80s.

The actress dons a hunter green plunging onesie that dips way below her chest, with a royal blue sports bra layered underneath. The skimpy leotard comes up way high, giving off major Jane Fonda vibes circa her famous fitness videos from 1982. All she is missing is a pair of vibrant leg warmers and she could pass off as an '80s VHS fitness instructor.

Nevertheless, the 38-year-old looks stunning, obviously. Sporting a fresh-faced barely there makeup look comprised of gorgeous dewy skin, a nude lip, and just a hint of mascara — she has never looked better. The look is complete with center-parted sleek locks that are totally workout-ready. I wish I looked as good as her while breaking a sweat.

Quite ironic that Washington's cover is fitness-themed, or so it appears. The actress' interview inside the mag is actually all about her workout routine, so it only seems fitting she dons an athleisure look to match.

Nailed it.

It seems Washington may be an avid fan of old school style. Here are three other times she has donned '80s-inspired looks.

Hot pink + ruffles = all the makings of an '80s prom queen.

The shiny metallic fabric paired with padded sleeved is quintessential '80s style.

It seems Washington is a huge fan of the "go big or go home" styles of the decade.
