Kate Isn't The Most Stylish Royal

by Sienna Fantozzi

I don't think anyone would dispute the fact that Kate Middleton is one of the chicest women in existence, but in a surprising turn of events, a poll of the most stylish royals named Kate Middleton the third most stylish royal. Yes, you read that right—the Duchess of Cambridge came in third. I guess Queen Elizabeth isn't the only one who doesn't approve of Kate's wedges?

Hello! magazine asked its readers to vote between ten royals to determine just who has the best fashion sense, and while I thought Middleton would have been the dead obvious choice for first place, apparently 30,000 readers disagreed. Instead, the 33-year-old Duchess came in third behind Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. I, admittedly, haven't actually heard of them before, but they must have some seriously killer style to upstage Kate.

So why didn't the British royal come in first? While I think Kate's style is seriously perfection, I can see where others might find it somewhat...bland. She's classic, polished, and generally understated, which is timeless, but doesn't exactly translate into groundbreaking style. Regardless, third is still better than last place (or not making the list at all).

Here's a look at the ladies voted the most stylish royals.
