The Fat Jewish Is Going To Model At NYFW

by Stephanie Chon

Some might call him a joke stealer, while others might call him a trendsetter, but to everyone he's The Fat Jewish on Instagram. Looks like he's going outside of his Instagram comfort zone and into the high-fashion world. The Fat Jewish will be at New York Fashion Week. Not to simply witness the latest upcoming collections from the greatest names in fashion, but to debut his own fashion show — the Dad Fashion Show. Now, according to the Instagram account called Fashion Dads, it's pretty clear that sporting "dad fashion" requires a fatherly finesse. C'mon, you've gotta admit, sock and sandals are pretty hard to pull off and yet dads are pros at it. I'd say that's fashion in itself and The Fat Jewish, Joshua Ostrovsky, has noticed the unappreciated art of dad fashion.

The Dad Fashion Show is planning to be held at the MADE studios in the Standard Hotel, where high fashion designers, such as Proenza Schouler, has held shows at. The co-founder of MADE Fashion Week told The Cut how she views Ostrovsky as, "a visionary and that is something we welcome into the MADE family." She continues to describe a variety of factors that make him a great icon to debut this fashion show, "his keen eye, ability to identify trends and the high probability that he has fathered a yet-to-be-identified child has always kept him at the forefront of culture."

I want to say I'm expecting a lot of New Balance sneakers and Hawaiian short-sleeve button ups, but perhaps Ostrovsky has something else in store for the Dad Fashion Show.

This look seems like dad fashion with a high-fashion edge, no? I mean, check out that LV tote.

Vintage tie-dyed shirts with washed out denim jackets? Definitely a dad move.

I wouldn't call this The Fat Jewish's best "dad fashion" moment, but I guess showing up to the red carpet with a tank top and a DGAF attitude is something most dads would definitely do.
