Becky G Releases “Break A Sweat” & Proves She’s Incapable Of Putting Out A Bad Song — LISTEN

On Wednesday evening, up-and-coming pop star Becky G premiered her new single, "Break a Sweat" — and it's 100-percent guaranteed to get you dancing. At this point, I'm pretty much convinced that the super-talented 18-year-old singer is incapable of putting out a bad song. (If you're just now hearing about Becky for the first time, be sure to check out her past singles — especially "Can't Get Enough," "Shower," and "Can't Stop Dancing." If you love pop music, you won't be disappointed.) The California native reportedly called it quits with fellow pop artist Austin Mahone recently (sad face), but the "Break a Sweat" lyrics seem to suggest she's doing just fine. In fact, she may be looking for someone new! On the high-energy first verse and pre-chorus, Becky sings:

Alright, alright

If you wanna get my body, better blow my mind

OK, OK

Boy, you better put in work if you wanna play

Alright, alright

I see you been looking at it all night, all night

OK, OK

Saying that you got that game, baby, demonstrate

Can you take me places I've never been

Never been before

Give me lovin' 'til I just can't take it

Take it anymore

The catchy chanting in "Break a Sweat's" chorus is going to be stuck in your head for a long, long time (but that's not a bad thing):

Baby, break a sweat

Break a sweat

Baby, break a sweat

Don't get tired yet

Tired yet

Don't get tired yet

Baby, break a sweat

Break a sweat

Baby, break a sweat

Keep on doing it

Doing it

Keep on doing it

Becky's April 2014 single, "Shower," peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it her biggest hit to date. With its stomping beat and sing-along chorus, I think "Break a Sweat" has the potential to climb even higher! Hopefully, the infectious track will finally give Becky the exposure and commercial success she deserves.
