Snow Is Going Down In New 'Mockingjay' Poster

by Kaitlin Reilly

President Snow may have held all of the power in Panem, but it looks like that's about to change in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2. As we saw in the first half of The Hunger Games franchise's final chapter, Katniss and the rest of the District 13 rebels are ready to take on the Capitol — and the embodiment of the Capitol's evil and greed, President Snow — for the atrocities the Districts have suffered under Snow's tyrannical reign. The new poster for Mockingjay — Part 2 certainly doesn't bode well for a peaceful reconciliation between the Capitol and the Districts. If the poster is any indication of things to come, Snow is going down in the new film.

Official Hunger Games website Squad 451, which is designed to look like a recruitment website for the rebels of Panem, just released a new official poster meant to "inspire" new soldiers to join up with their cause. The poster features favorite characters like Peeta, Gale, and Finnick standing in front of a huge statue of President Snow, armed with weapons. Meanwhile, "girl on fire" Katniss stands on top of the defeated statue. It's the perfect threat: the rebels are coming, and they're going to take down Snow the same way they took down his icon.

This isn't the first Hunger Games poster that featured the destruction of a symbol of President Snow. An earlier poster for Mockinjay - Part 2 featured an all-white statue of Snow smashed to pieces, with the statue's head at its feet. Watch out, Snow: Katniss and her friends are coming for you.

Both of these posters hint at a major change in the tide of The Hunger Games franchise. This time around the Districts know who the "real enemy is," and it's the person who has turned his subjects into puppets for his sick gladiator games. Instead of attacking innocent victims during the Hunger Games in order to survive, the Districts are now in a full rebellion: they will turn their weapons on Snow and not one another.

If you're a fan of the book series that the Hunger Games is based on, you already know how all of that turns out — but it will be one heck of a ride to get there. Mockingjay - Part 2 hits theaters on Nov. 20, 2015.
