7 Brilliantly Snarky Headlines About Donald Trump

by Elizabeth King

If you like puns and don't like Donald Trump, prepare to be thrilled. For as much as Trump likes to dish it out and zing anyone and everyone who rubs him the wrong way at a given moment, he seems to lack the self-awareness to recognize his own incredible flaws — which are pretty easy to pick out and make fun of. While Trump is perhaps impervious to jokes made at his expense, this doesn't mean that the rest of us can't share a laugh about the absurd spectacle he is creating with his presidential campaign. Some journalists have been taking the creative license to pen hilarious headlines about Trump, complete with all the puns you could ever want from election coverage.

To be fair, some of the shots taken at Trump seem rather cheap, as they frequently pertain to his appearance — particularly his uber-recognizable, possibly artificial hair. But The Donald seems to at least have a good sense of humor about the hair. Here's a look at some of the most clever (and punny!) headlines that have been put out about The Donald since he announced his bid for the presidency.

"Don Voyage!" And "Boo-Boos"

The New York Post and The Daily News were quick to ding Trump for his tasteless remarks about John McCain's heroism, and ragged on the real G.I. Joe.

"Rubber Nose"

I always thought that those noses were made of foam! Either way, commentary comparing Trump to a clown is in no short supply. The Daily News just decided to take it to the highest possible level.

"Baddest Candidate"

Looks like Rolling Stone is keen to take a little jab at Trump's lack of eloquence. It's hard not to ...

"Trump Piñatas Are A Hit"

Okay, now that's got to hurt. (See what I did there?)

Heidi Klum For President

Another fabulous "Don" pun. Keep em coming!

"Hell Toupee"

This one takes the cake for me. In fact, I'd like to put in a special request for more toupee-related puns in this election cycle.

Cannonball!

And as a special bonus, here is perhaps the best Trump cover ever devised. Bravo, New Yorker.

While it might be cruel to pick on a single candidate this much, lets not shed any tears for Trump just yet. Remembering the tactless and mean-spirited comments he's made about Hillary Clinton, Rosie O'Donnell, and Megyn Kelly (among many others) puts the Bozo jokes into a little perspective. At this point, with Trump doing so well in the polls, it really seems like he's here to stay, and hopefully the clever headlines about his absurdities will continue to roll out.
