Photos Of The Weeknd & Bella Hadid Are Very Rare

by Maitri Suhas

I wish I could just accept that The Weeknd and Bella Hadid are going to be mysterious, withholding meanies about their relationship for as long as they please before they start posting photos together — if they ever start posting photos together — but I just have to be selfish and want more info! Rumors first began circulating that the two were dating at the beginning of the summer, and since then, they have kept their relationship low-profile. And that's totally their prerogative. I respect them as people. Blah blah blah. I just wanna see some photos of them together.

The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, and Hadid are both having a hell of a year. The Weeknd is finally blowing up mainstream, even though he's been cultivating a following for years with his surreal R&B. His song "I Can't Feel My Face" became one of the ubiquitous songs of summer, and when he performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, he was so good, that he even made stoic King Kanye West dance. Hadid is a supermodel, and she has a supermodel sister who's dating Joe Jonas. So, if power couple you want, then power couple you get with The Weeknd and Bella Hadid, who apparently met at Coachella through Gigi, and have been hanging out and enjoying their summer together ever since. It just all sounds so normal, so where are those normal people photos?!

As for what we have seen, Hadid has posted some teasing Instagrams of The Weeknd, with her sister, not with herself. And there are a few lucky paparazzi shots of the couple, but even those are unsatisfactory. There's also that one tweeted photoset of them macking, and that stray, lone selfie (where did it come from?!).

If there's one thing that's for sure, it's that The Weeknd and Hadid have "evading the public" in their arsenal of talents. Us fans might eventually have our patience redeemed and finally start seeing photos of the duo together, rather than having to rely on careful (see: nutty) tracking of their interactions on social media, like on this fan-made Instagram account.

I can't blame them for wanting a little privacy. The Weeknd's whole brand is being elusive. In a recent interview with The New York Times, he was asked if he was in love with his girlfriend. "I don't know, to be honest with you," he replied. "I don't think so. Maybe. It's no, it's yes, it's maybe." What kind of an answer is that?

I guess I will just have to pine and imagine their relationship in my mind's eye. A little mystery is always fun. But come on, y'all, a couples' selfie never hurt anyone. Sometimes it's OK to give the people what they want. I'll be waiting.
