How To Steal Kate's '70s Style For Jimmy Choo

by Sienna Fantozzi

Her self-admitted favorite season for fashion might be summer, but according to People, Kate Hudson's fall Jimmy Choo photo diary might almost be better than her flowy summer dresses and edgy cut offs. And they'll give you some major Almost Famous flashbacks. SO much goodness.

The How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days star teamed up with Jimmy Choo to model their fall collection in an exclusive photo diary, and it's probably the best I've seen her look to date. (Though, to be fair, I say this literally every time I see her). The fall campaign was inspired by ballet, featuring lots of tulle, pink, and satin — fitting for Hudson, since she's grew up dancing.

But it's not just about the soft and feminine; there's also a serious '70s vibe going on (shoutout to that velvet blue suit), and I'd imagine that was a role Kate was more than comfortable stepping in to play. "I’ve always been attracted to the ’70s — sexy, with a lot of freedom in the overall aesthetic. My fashion icons are Julie Christie, Anita Pallenberg, Kate Moss and Cher," Hudson told Jimmy Choo.

If you can't decide which look you want to immediately replicate, here's how to steal a piece from each.

Silk Dress

Kate has me convinced this is a huge staple for fall.

Pretty in pink with a modern twist. (See by Chloe Silk-Paneled Dress; $297; theoutnet.com).

Tulle Skirt

Carrie Bradshaw would totally approve of this fun and romantic skirt for fall.

All kinds of edgy ballerina vibes. (Elizabeth & James Tulle Skirt; $173; neimanmarcus.com).

Button-Down Shirt

This is a must, must, must.

A white button-down is a menswear staple. (Fitted Shirt; $76; nordstrom.com).

Blue Blazer

Whether it's velvet or not, do yourself a favor and step up your blazer game.

Because it wouldn't be fall without a '70s ensemble. (Halogen Blazer; $42.90; nordstrom.com).
