Wednesday brought the much-anticipated (at least for tech junkies) reveal of the next installation in the iPhone family, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. While the release of this new iPhone is maybe not bringing as much excitement for the general public as previous generations of iPhones have, there is always some curiosity surrounding new and improved Apple products, and the upgraded 6's are no exception. For anyone who likes to get the newest iPhone immediately when it becomes available, or for anyone who has been living that cracked screen life for too long, the big question is not necessarily about new features, but is where to buy the new iPhone 6s.
During the reveal event in San Francisco, Apple CEO Tim Cook showed off the new iPhones, highlighting new design features (like the new rose gold color!), and demonstrating the phone's new features — like 3D touch, live photos, etc.
Some folks aren't even bothering to wait for an answer to when they can buy the new iPhone, and have already commenced with the ritual of lining up outside the Apple store in advance of a new product, to make sure that they are the "First Person To Have The New iPhone." A man in Australia popped his tent outside an Apple store on Wednesday, despite the fact that Apple will not make the new iPhone available for preorder until Saturday.
The new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus become on available for in-store purchase on Sept. 25, but will be available to order on Sept. 12. Anyone looking to own the new iPhone will be able to purchase one from Apple (of course), wireless providers who carry iPhones, and other electronics retailers such as Best Buy.
When people finally get their mitts on the new iPhone, they will likely be eager to check out 3D Touch, a technology added to the new phones that will allow users to use specific touch gestures on the phone's screen to perform certain actions (like pulling up a specific app or menu). Another exciting aspect about the newest iPhone will be that it now will hold 2GB of RAM, and will have a better camera (because what are we really using these things for now, anyways?).
There's still a handful of days left in the countdown to when the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be available for purchase, and no doubt we will all be able to see lines of anxious techies gathered outside Apple stores around the world, waiting to have one all of their own.
