DC Comics is swiftly taking over your television screen, one character at a time. Series like Arrow and The Flash have really taken off and the grand poobah Legends of Tomorrow just keeps getting more exciting. Two more superheroes are going to debut this fall in a crossover episode of Arrow and The Flash — Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Once they've made their mark with fans, they'll be joining full force with Legends of Tomorrow. Their first task will be to take on the brutal and immortal villain Vandal Savage. Just based on his name alone, you know Hawkman and Hawkgirl are going to have their work cut out for them as the new kids on the block.
The new winged crusaders will join the ranks of Firestorm, The Atom, White Canary, Rip Hunter, Captain Cold, and Heatwave. With their powers combined, the Legends of Tomorrow are an unstoppable force. Executive Producer Greg Berlanti is excited about how different all of these heroes are and what their chemistry will be like when they're thrown together, "That's the fun of it...You want that Rat Pack-y kind of vibe of all this crew hanging out, as disparate and as different as they are.”
Before Hawkman and Hawkgirl join the pack, let's take a look at their debut:
Now let's get to know them a little better.
They Are Reincarnations of Ancient Egyptian Royals
Who were born on the planet Thanagar.
They Get Their Power From The Ancient God Horus
Along with being a god of the sky, he was a god of war and hunting.
They Sprout Wings From Their Backs
Their Weapons And Wings Are Made Of Nth Metal
It can defy gravity, thus allowing them to fly.
Hawkman's Fake Identity Is Carter Hall
He's a museum researcher and archaeologist who hides his reincarnation.
Hawkgirl Is Kendra Saunders
In the series, she is just beginning to learn of her history of reincarnation, including the fact that she was once Carter's wife and the first Hawkgirl Shiera Sanders.
Their Weapon Of Choice Is A Mace
Talk about getting medieval.
These two are soul mates, who are fated to fight together for all time. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see them in action.
