D. Wade & Gabrielle's Wedding Vid Is A Masterpiece

How was your weekend? Awesome, you say? Glad to hear it. And how's your Monday going? Is it acting more Monday-ish than usual? (Monday? More like Mehday, am I right?) (Ugh, sorry. Couldn't help myself.) Right there with you, pal. Er, I should say I was right there with you. You see, this Mehday took a turn for the better when I saw The Wade Union, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s wedding video/faux movie preview. (If I was in an especially corny mood, I'd say the delightful vid turned my Mehday into Funday. But I resisted that urge. *Pats self on back.* Baby steps.) The power couple was kind enough to share never-before-seen footage from their August 2014 ceremony with People, and People was kind enough to share the "trailer" with the Internet.

The Wade Union has a lot going for it: The title is clever without being overwrought; the "movie" stars an NBA All-Star and an actress/activist/East Compton Clovers cheer captain/banana boat captain; the supporting cast includes A-list celebrities like Kevin Hart, Ludacris, LaLa Anthony, Chris Bosh, John Legend, and Questlove; Hart drops an F-bomb in the middle of his toast (a NSFW wedding toast is the best kind of wedding toast); it’s set in a Miami castle; Union's dress is beyond; there’s dancing; there's a Sister Sledge classic; there’s a small monkey.

A+, five stars, will watch The Wade Union again.

My only gripe: I wish this was a real trailer for a real movie. Maybe the enthusiastic reactions will be enough to make that a reality? Hey, I can dream.
