Kiernan Is Beyond Fierce On 'Teen Vogue'

by Sienna Fantozzi

The best way to shed an iconic image? Change your look to something totally drastic. One young lady is doing just that. According to Teen Vogue , Kiernan Shipka is going dark and edgy in its October issue, a far cry from the coiffed, '60s 'dos we've become so accustomed to seeing on our TV screens. Sally Draper, who?

The Mad Men actress bid farewell to the character she's played for seven seasons with an edgy new photoshoot in the Young Hollywood issue of Teen Vogue, and as a borderline obsessed fan of the show (and Kiernan in particular), I can honestly say — she's never looked better.

The 15-year-old admits she usually doesn't wear much makeup, so the dark rimmed, dramatic "cool girl cat-eyes" she rocked in the editorial were definitely a shock to her, but something she is a bit more used to? People talking about her bold eyebrows, and her famous arches were on point in this shoot. She even admitted in a behind-the-scenes video that she'd shave her hair off before she'd lose her brows. Well, that would certainly be a way to say so-long to Sally for good.

After watching her grow up on the show, it's super exciting to see Kiernan coming into her own identity and killing it.

But let's remind ourselves of where she started...

Cue the "awws..." Kiernan revealed to Teen Vogue that in the early seasons of Mad Men, she didn't wear any makeup. Literally — nothing at all.

Such a doll. But by 2011, she started to make a name for herself in the fashion world.

I mean, no lie, I want to take style inspiration from someone ten years younger than me.

Which brings us to today.

I can't wait to see where her style goes next.
