Donald Trump's Sexist Comment To Carly Fiorina During The GOP Debate Didn't Get To Her. At All.
As a woman, it's impossible to truly articulate just how disgusting it was to hear Donald Trump so purposefully insult Republican hopeful Carly Fiorina. Trump didn't attack her politics, her policies, or her plans for the future of America. Instead, he went right for his signature below-the-belt move: insulting her looks. Aside from all the ways his comment was gross, embarrassing, and a true depiction of the kind of person he was, The Donald's comments revealed something bigger: This is the guy some people want to be our nation's next leader. This is the guy people want to call our president. And this is the guy so many people are rooting for. But at the 2016 CNN debate, Carly responded beautifully. We all knew it was a matter of time before the question came up, and I'd be lying if I wasn't a little nervous at how Fiorina would respond — and whether or not Trump would bite back. Sure enough, when it did, Fiorina handled it beautifully. She answered the question tactfully, proving the only way to play The Donald's game is to not play it at all. When she said, "I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said," all women did a collective fist pump — party lines aside.
More to come!
